Regulators Forum - Sydney November 2000
In November 2000 a 'Regulators Forum' was hosted by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and held in association with the World Self-Medication Industry (WSMI) 4th Asia Pacific Regional Conference.
The Regulators' Forum was designed to develop a regional approach and understanding and to foster closer collaboration in the Asia Pacific region between the regulatory authorities. An understanding was developed on the basis of a partnership between regulators, industry and consumer interests. The Forum relied on collaboration, cooperation and the exchange of views, policies and ideas. It has initiated a start towards harmonised approaches in the regulation of therapeutic goods, in the Asia Pacific Region. The Regulators Forum also involved a number of presentations of interest and provided an opportunity to share experiences in a positive way.
An outcome of the Forum was the development of the "Sydney 2000" declaration.
